Cab to Cádiz, better than your car ©lasguiritanas.com

Where can I park in Cadiz and how much does it cost?

Parking your car in Cadiz has long been easy and possible, just behind the station.

Then came the COVID, and just as the French discovered the French regions to spend weekends or summers, the Spanish discovered Cadiz. Since then, almost all parking lots have been paid for, and three colors have been applied to street parking spaces. Here's an overview.

Where can I find free parking in Cadiz?

There are two Cádizs: the historic "Casco antiguo" and the new "Puerta de Tierra", which you enter from Seville via the 1812 Constitution Bridge.

"Casco antiguo

In Cadiz's old town, there's only one place left to park for free: at the end of Punta San Felipe, near the port. Your GPS will take you there. Spaces are scarce, but it's worth a try.
📍A word of advice: drop off your luggage before you go: it's a good 20-minute walk from there to the center of the casco antiguo.
Take advantage: the town council launches the construction of a new tourist complex Punta San Felipe: a paseo with swimming pool, bars and boutiques. Work will begin shortly. By 2025, it's a safe bet that we'll be saying goodbye to this last free parking area.

"Puerta de Tierra", just outside the casco antiguo.

Free parking becomes scarce in summer.
Free street parking is still available at the following locations:

⏩Avenidade Andalucía, the main artery that runs through a good half of the new town.
⏩AvenidaJuan Carlos I.
⏩The Bahía Blanca district , except for calle de Acacias
⏩And the streets in the following districts: San Severiano, Barriada de la Paz, Loreto, Puntales, La Laguna.
⏩Finally, the streets behind the "Ciudad de Cádiz" sports complex are also open to free parking around Avenida Periodista Beatriz Cienfuegos.

No need to play bumper cars to park in Cadiz

🚌 The new town has excellent bus links to Plaza España in the casco antiguo. Venture out by taking line 1, 5 (for a detour to el Corte Ingles, the shopping center).
👛The fare is €1.10.
🚨Beware, the driver only accepts cash under €5. Don't expect him to "break" your 50-euro bill.

Are you over the time limit and have a fine on your windscreen?

Rest assured, it's not the prohibitive price of major French cities. 10 euros maximum in my (bad) memory. Take the fine, go to the parking meter, enter the fine number on the meter's keypad, pay and leave, keeping the receipt!

Pay car parks

Many underground parking lots are available. They are guarded, have electric recharging stations.
👛Daily rate: €19.95
📍The most central: Interparking San Antonio
By downloading the INTERPARKING app, you can reserve day passes at the most advantageous rate by entering your license plate. Just think about it.
The barrier will open and close automatically. Magic, no more need to know where you've put the parking ticket 😉
🚨 If you're renting a car, remember to delete the plate data at the end of your parking, otherwise the next tenant will thank you for the free parking, paid for by you😉Las guiritanas have tested it for you, not to be duplicated!
