The goat path

HIKE WITH A VIEW OF MOROCCO, UNSPOILED BEACH & VEJER DE LA FRONTERA · A DAY TRIP FROM CÁDIZ

Take a path that few people know about, facing Morocco. Walk for forty minutes, pass by the famous “payoya” goats —native to the Sierra—then head down through the umbrella pines; this trail has the feel of “Andalusian Brittany.”
At the bottom, a wild beach where few people venture yet: take a dip—the sea is all yours.

At noon, head to Vejer de la Frontera, one of Spain’s most beautiful villages. Discover its Arab-Andalusian spirit in its white-washed alleyways and take a break at Plaza de España before enjoying the panoramic view of the entire Sierra. The guiritanas will lead the way, keep the pace just right, and bring a smile to your face. Come with an open mind.

  • Her knowledge: the major and minor stories of Cádiz, written by the people of Cádiz, right down to Delacroix’s forgotten visit in 1832, which she turned into a big event, along with Eli.
  • Her daily life: the one she shares with the people of Cádiz, a bond forged with patience and respect for differences.
  • Her perspective: that of a Frenchwoman on her adopted city.
  • Her favorite restaurants: She’ll make reservations based on your preferences, so you can sample the local specialties and a fine wine from the Tierra de Cádiz and end the evening on a high note.
  • 2.5 hours - €50 per adult; free for children, or Full Day (9 a.m.–4 p.m.) - €125 per adult. Lunch and admission fees not included.
